Gabriel YoungStar, whose real name is Gabriel Masango Sitoe, is a versatile artist hailing from Kwa-Mashu in KwaZulu-Natal. He wears many hats as a producer, composer, dancer, choreographer, and businessman. His passion for music began at the tender age of 10. However, it wasn't until 2006 that he dedicated himself completely to his musical career, also exploring the business aspects of the industry. Gabriel often reflects that while he didn't consciously choose music, the world of performing arts and entertainment naturally drew him in. Growing up, he admired and drew inspiration from iconic performers like Michael Jackson, both for their music and dance. Initially supporting other musicians in their artistic journeys, Gabriel also honed his dance skills. This journey continued until 2016 when he decided to leap into music production. 

In the industry, Gabriel has become well-known through various roles such as event organizer, MC/host, TV and radio presenter, and as a director for movies and music videos. Over the years, he has firmly established his reputation by releasing some of South Africa’s chart-topping hits like "Indovozi" featuring SABC Uzalo's Khaya Dladla, Tudor, and Jeaychroniq, "Ingoma" with Royalson and Khaya Dladla, and "Uzolala La" featuring Thee Legacy. He also gained wider recognition by reaching the top 8 on SABC1's music reality show, "1s & 2s." His 2020 hit "So Good," featuring Freedom Musiq and DJ Odyccy, achieved tremendous success by reaching two times platinum with over 13 million streams globally. Under the labels Bhavani Entertainment (in partnership with SONY Music) and his own YoungStar Production, he released "Qe2ka," featuring artists from his label. Beyond his music, Gabriel is an acclaimed theater practitioner and has been part of successful collaborations like "Heavy Duty" by Dammy Krane and DJ Zinhle. 

In 2022, he teamed up with the "Female Duo DJ’s," Mindollzz, and formed the SMG DJ's brand, releasing the hit "Asina Mali" featuring Black Pearls, a singing group from Cape Town. Fast forward to 2024, Gabriel made a powerful return with three amapiano hits aimed at revolutionizing the genre: "Madali" with Pro Kings DJs and Zeekay Musik, "Uthando" featuring Pro Kings DJs, Monaco SA, and Mtho the R.O.G, and "Amaghost" with Pro Kings DJs, Mindollzz, and Zeekay Musik. By 2025, Gabriel began integrating a hybrid piano sound, as evidenced by his latest hit "Maku Nje," featuring Gallo, Qhawelentombi, Mtho the R.O.G, and DJ Zxnda. Looking ahead, Gabriel is poised to release an EP showcasing this unique Amapiano hybrid sound in 2025.
